The International Organization for Migration announced the displacement of 31 families during the past week from several Yemeni governorates, for economic reasons and security concerns related to the conflict that has been ongoing in the country for 10 years.

The organization said in its weekly report, issued yesterday, Sunday, that its displacement tracking matrix monitored the displacement of 31 Yemeni families (186 people) during the period from October 20 to 26.

She explained that the displacement cases originated from Hodeidah, Taiz, Ibb and Lahj and settled in Marib (19 families), Taiz (9 families - internal), and Al Dhale’e (3 families).

She stated that economic factors related to the conflict were the reason behind the displacement of 17 families, at a rate of 55%, while concerns related to safety and security prompted 14 families to leave their areas of origin, at a rate of 45%.

She pointed out that the total number of displaced persons throughout the country rose during the period from January 1 to October 26 to 2,982 families (17,892 individuals).
