Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Acting Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Waed Badib, stressed the importance of the Internet services expansion project within the second phase, which aims to improve the quality of service and expand the scope of coverage.
This came during the Minister's visit, today, Sunday, to inspect the progress of work in the General Telecommunications Corporation, Aden Net Company, and the Yemeni International Telecommunications Company "TeleYemen" in the interim capital, Aden, where he was briefed on the level of performance and ongoing expansion projects.
According to Saba News Agency, Badib stressed the importance of the recently signed agreements to regulate the exchange of data via satellite stations, noting that they represent a fundamental step towards developing the communications sector and improving the quality of its services.
He listened to a report from the General Manager of Aden Net, Engineer Mansour Al-Walidi, on the achievements made, including the installation of new stations and increasing the network's capacity, in addition to the challenges facing implementation.
The Minister called for doubling efforts to complete projects according to the specified timetable, which would contribute to achieving a qualitative shift in the communications sector and enhancing citizens’ confidence in its services.
