Ministry of Finance confirms government's commitment to paying state employees' salaries and denies "half salary" rumors

The Ministry of Finance in the interim capital, Aden, confirmed today, Wednesday, the government's keenness to commit to paying full salaries to state employees in the central and local authorities in the liberated governorates.

The Ministry of Finance denied, in a statement published by the Yemeni News Agency "Saba", the false rumors attributed to officials in the Ministry of Finance, and circulated on a number of electronic news websites and social media, about the existence of proposals to affect salaries and pay half a salary to state employees.

In its statement, the Ministry of Finance reiterated the government's commitment to its responsibilities in paying the salaries of state employees in full and without reduction.

The statement called on the media to obtain information from official sources and not to be carried away by false rumours.

The Secretary-General of the Teachers' Union in Taiz Governorate, Mr. Abdul Rahman Al-Maqtari, confirmed the start of disbursing October salaries to teachers in Aden Governorate.

Al-Maqtari said in a telephone statement to "Yemeni Youth Net", starting from today, Wednesday, December 4, 2024 AD, teachers' salaries in Aden have begun to be disbursed through the Bank of Aden, and this is good news that salaries will be disbursed to all liberated governorates successively.
