Saudi Arabia announces new support for the Yemeni government and central bank worth half a billion dollars

Saudi Arabia announced, on Friday, new support for the Yemeni government and the Central Bank of Yemen worth half a billion US dollars.
Saudi Ambassador to Yemen Mohammed Al Jaber said via the "X" platform: "Under the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince, and in continuation of supporting the brotherly Yemeni people, the Kingdom is providing new economic support amounting to half a billion US dollars."
He explained that the support included a new deposit to the Central Bank of Yemen in the amount of $300 million, and a fourth payment to support the treatment of the budget deficit of the Yemeni government in the amount of $200 million, including support for salaries, wages, operating expenses, and food security in Yemen, and contributing to achieving security, stability, and development for the brotherly Yemeni people.

For his part, Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak said: "All thanks and appreciation to our brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for their continuous and generous support for the Yemeni government and their launch today of the fourth installment of support for the general budget in the amount of $200 million in addition to an amount of $300 million to support the Central Bank of Yemen."
He added, via the "X" platform, that "this is nothing but a continuous expression of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's authentic positions and its permanent support for the Yemeni people in all circumstances."
The Prime Minister stressed that this support will enable the Yemeni government to pay the salaries of state employees and stop the deterioration of the currency, and will also enable it to continue with determination in the program of financial and administrative reform and combating corruption.
