Statistics: 76 people died and were injured in traffic accidents during the past week

Security statistics revealed the death and injury of 76 people in traffic accidents in the liberated areas during the past week.

Traffic statistics published by the Security Media of the Ministry of Interior stated that the roads of the liberated areas witnessed 86 traffic accidents during the past week, "which claimed the lives of 11 people and injured 65 others, 31 of whom were seriously injured."

She explained that the traffic accidents, which caused material losses of 12 million, were distributed between 52 vehicle collision accidents, 23 pedestrian run-over accidents, 7 vehicle rollover accidents, 3 collision accidents, and one falling from a vehicle accident.

The statistics attributed the causes of traffic accidents to (violating traffic rules and regulations by exceeding speed and wrong and dangerous overtaking, being distracted by things other than the road, neglecting the distances between and on the sides, repeatedly stopping on the public road without adhering to traffic signals when stopping, ignoring traffic signals and instructions, neglecting periodic maintenance of the vehicle, and neglecting pedestrians when crossing).
