Affirming its full solidarity with it.. The UAE condemns the terrorist operation that targeted Saudi forces in eastern Yemen

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the attack that targeted Saudi forces in Yemen on Friday, which resulted in the death of two Saudi soldiers and the injury of a third, at the headquarters of the Joint Forces Command of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in the city of Sayoun, Hadhramaut Governorate, eastern Yemen.

The spokesman for the Arab coalition forces, Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, announced on Saturday evening, "the martyrdom of an officer and a non-commissioned officer, and the injury of an officer" belonging to the Saudi forces stationed inside the coalition forces camp in the city of (Saiyun) last Friday evening, describing the attack as "treacherous and cowardly."

On Sunday, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement in which it stressed the UAE’s strong condemnation of “the cowardly attack on Saudi forces in the coalition forces camp in the Yemeni city of Sayoun, which resulted in the martyrdom of two Saudi soldiers and the injury of another.”

The UAE Foreign Ministry added, in the statement published on the ministry's website, that "the UAE expresses its strong condemnation of these criminal acts, and its permanent rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism that aim to destabilize security and stability and are inconsistent with international law."

While the UAE Foreign Ministry expressed its "full solidarity with the Saudi forces participating with the coalition forces in operations to maintain security, stability and peace in Yemen," it stressed its "support for the measures taken by the Kingdom to preserve its security and the safety of its soldiers and citizens," according to the statement.

The official spokesman for the Arab coalition forces, Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, explained in the statement published by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) on Saturday that the attack was carried out "by one of the individuals affiliated with the Yemeni Ministry of Defense," noting that "the aforementioned does not represent the honorable members of the Yemeni Ministry of Defense who appreciate the positive and important role played by the coalition forces to support Yemeni legitimacy and support humanitarian work to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people."

Brigadier General Al-Maliki stated that the joint forces will work, in coordination with the Yemeni Ministry of Defense, to follow up on the investigation procedures to determine the reasons and motives, arrest the perpetrator, and bring him to justice.
