Hadhramaut: Educator released after months of detention by STC forces

Forces of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) in the city of Mukalla, Hadramaut Governorate, released an educator months after he was kidnapped from his home.
The family of the kidnapped man told Yemen Youth Net that their son, Bassam Bahashwan, an educator, was released on Monday evening on a commercial guarantee.
Bahashwan's family declined to comment on the reasons for his detention, noting that the case is still ongoing and that a designated lawyer is following up with the relevant authorities.
On December 3, units of the Transitional Council's Barashid Brigade, stationed west of Mukalla, raided Bahashwan's home in the Al-Salam neighborhood of Mukalla and detained him in one of its prisons. He was recently released.
