Former Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi appeared in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, which is under Houthi militia control, on an unannounced visit that was not reported by the militia's media.
According to video footage circulated by activists and Houthi militia leaders, Abdul Hadi appeared in Sanaa with a Houthi leader close to the militia's leader, Abdulrahman Al-Hamran.
Abdulrahman Al-Ahnumi, director of the Houthi-affiliated General Corporation for Radio and Television, posted a video with the caption, "Welcome, dear guest. You have illuminated Sana'a."

Al-Ahnoumi commented, "Abdul Hadi has come to participate in the Palestine Conference," which had not been previously announced.
Abdul-Mahdi is a Shiite politician known for his loyalty to Iran. He served as Prime Minister of Iraq as a representative of the Shiite State of Law Coalition from October 25, 2018, to November 25, 2019. Prior to that, he served as Vice President from 2005 to 2011.
Observers believe Abdul Mahdi's visit comes within the framework of bilateral cooperation within the so-called "unity of arenas" affiliated with the Iranian axis in the region.
