Presidential Leadership Council member Brigadier General Tariq Saleh emphasized the unity of fronts and objectives within the framework of legitimacy, noting that Al Bayda is on the cusp of liberation and will be the first governorate to reject the Houthi project when the battle begins.
This came during his meeting on Saturday evening with sheikhs, dignitaries, and notables from Al Bayda Governorate, on the sidelines of a tribal meeting for the governorate's people hosted by the city of Mocha, west of Taiz, according to the Yemeni News Agency, Saba.
Tariq said that Al Bayda holds a special place in the heart of every Yemeni, due to its honorable history of struggle against the Imamate, which has harbored a deep-seated hatred toward the governorate throughout history, both past and present.
He pointed out that the people of Al Bayda had waged continuous battles against the Imamate for over a hundred years, driven by republican motives. This prompted the Houthi militias, after seizing control of Sana'a, to target Al Bayda as their next target, driven by vengeful motives and historical hatred.
He pointed to the Houthi crimes committed in the Al-Hofrah neighborhood in Rada'a, and in the areas of Khabza, Hanaka, Al Masoud, Qifah, Al Humayqan, Al Awad, Al Zaher, and others, which he said reveal an aggressive and vengeful tendency stemming from the militia's hatred for Al Bayda Governorate.
Tariq Saleh said that what Al Bayda suffered at the hands of the Houthis is no different from the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation in Gaza, as the aggressive behavior is identical, mocking the Houthis' claims of defending Gaza against Israeli crimes while they commit the same crimes in Yemen.
The Leadership Council member praised the national and historical figures of the people of Al Bayda who resisted the Imamate and contributed to breaking the siege of Al-Sab'een, led by the fighters Ahmed Abd Rabbuh Al-Awadhi, Salem Al-Humaiqani, Ahmed Al-Dhahab, and other heroes.
He stressed that the tribes of Al Bayda have always been a stronghold of the republic, resisting the Imamate project and defending the republic, noting that the people of Al Bayda are fighting today with a republican spirit on various fronts.
He added, "The republic is the hope of every Yemeni and the source of security and stability, and stability will only be achieved by restoring it." He emphasized that the war waged by Yemenis today is not sectarian or vengeful, but rather aims to restore the state, freedom, and equal living under the rule of law.
Tariq Saleh stressed the need to reassure the people in Houthi-controlled areas, as well as anyone who has been seduced by or involved in their project, that the goal for which Yemenis are struggling is not to settle scores, but rather to restore the republic and build a just state.
The Presidential Leadership Council member expressed his readiness to support the people of Al Bayda in organizing their ranks against the militias. He also announced that the Humanitarian Cell is directing efforts to support the people of Al Bayda, as is the case with other beneficiary governorates, directing additional support to the families of victims of Houthi crimes in Hanakat Al Masoud.
