The Arab Parliament reiterated its support for all UN and international efforts to bring peace to Yemen in accordance with the three references.

This came in the speech of Parliament Speaker Mohammed Ahmed Al Yamahi, which he delivered while chairing, on Saturday, the second session of the first session of the fourth legislative term, which was held at the headquarters of the League of Arab States.

Al Yamahi stressed "support for Arab and international efforts and the efforts of the UN envoy to reach a final and comprehensive political solution to the crisis based on the Gulf Initiative and its executive mechanism, the outcomes of the comprehensive national dialogue, and relevant UN Security Council resolutions."

Al Yamahi explained the Arab Parliament’s keenness to harness all tools of parliamentary diplomacy to support the efforts of Arab countries and the Arab League in dealing with current crises, stressing the need to intensify Arab presence in dealing with the existing crises in the Arab region.

The Speaker of the Arab Parliament stressed that "safe, final and sustainable solutions to the crises we face cannot be reached except by purely Arab hands, far from any foreign interference that aspires to control the capabilities of the Arab people or interfere in their internal affairs."

Al Yamahi pointed out that enhancing cooperation and integration between the mechanisms of joint Arab action, each within the framework of its role, specializations and mandate, has become an inevitable matter for which we do not have the luxury of waiting, and we bear its responsibility before our Arab people, who still expect a lot from us.

For more than ten years, Yemen has been witnessing a devastating war sparked by the Houthi militia’s coup against the government and its control over state institutions in the fall of 2014, causing catastrophic humanitarian and economic repercussions that have pushed more than half of the population into famine.
