Germany draws with Italy

The German national team advanced to the semi-finals after drawing with the Italian national team (3-3) in the second leg of the quarter-finals of the tournament.

The match was held in Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park. Germany had won the first leg against Italy 2-1, and advanced to the semi-finals after winning the two legs 5-4 on aggregate.

Germany took the lead through a penalty kick scored by Mannschaft captain Joshua Kimmich in the 30th minute.

In the 36th minute, Jamal Musiala scored the second goal, taking advantage of Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma's inattention, as he was busy talking to Polish referee Szymon Marciniak, leaving his goal completely empty, allowing the Bayern Munich star to effortlessly put the ball into the net.

The home side continued their dominance, and in the 45th minute, striker Tim Klinist scored the third goal with a header, announcing Germany's lead at the end of the first half with three goals to none.

At the start of the second half, Azzurri striker Moise Kean took advantage of a mistaken ball from a German player, controlling it and firing a low shot from outside the penalty area into the net of German goalkeeper Oliver Baumann.

Kane returned with a brilliant run into the German penalty area, scoring Italy's second goal in the 69th minute.

Referee Marciniak subsequently awarded a penalty kick to the visitors, but reversed it after consulting VAR.

In the 90+5 minute, the referee awarded a penalty kick in favour of the Italian team, which Giacomo Raspadori converted to equalise (3-3).
