The legitimacy neglected the leading role played by the Republic institution in the battle of awareness. The newspaper was supposed to have resumed publication in the first year of the war. Since 2015, the years have passed, year after year, and Taiz has had no influential media voice.

The certificates issued, especially the Master’s and Doctorate degrees, are a natural result of the use of force and the intrusion of academic education into them. The group’s goal is to give an academic character to its beliefs, establish sectarian hegemony, and build a new national narrative that deifies a sect and imams, i.e. a struggle over history and memory.

On February 11, 2011, Yemenis took to the streets in a wave of anger, an extension of the Arab Spring that swept the region, raising slogans of freedom, dignity and social justice, after decades of tyranny, corruption and marginalization imposed by the Saleh regime.

The past ten years have created a new reality in the southern and eastern regions that has made the secession of the south more complicated than it was during the national dialogue phase.
