The International Federation of Journalists condemned the execution by the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda in Yemen of journalist Mohammed Al-Maqri, who has been missing since October 2015, and demanded that the perpetrators of this heinous crime be held accountable, while the Yemeni Journalists Syndicate renewed its demand for the Houthi militia to release the rest of the kidnapped journalists.

The Yemeni Journalists Syndicate condemned the execution of journalist Mohammed Qaed Al-Maqri, the correspondent of Yemen Today Channel in Hadhramaut, who has been missing since October 12, 2015, at the hands of “Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula,” which announced on Friday that it had killed him along with 11 others in previous periods on the pretext of espionage.

A workshop organized by the Yemeni Journalists Syndicate in Taiz, on Thursday, recommended the necessity of integrating the concepts of occupational safety and digital security into the curricula of media departments in Yemeni universities.

The Yemeni Journalists Syndicate called on the International Committee of the Red Cross to urgently intervene and pressure the Houthi militia to reveal the fate of journalist Mohammed Al-Mayahy, who has been missing in Houthi militia prisons for more than a month, and to allow his family to visit him and seek his release.

The lawyer of journalist Mohammed Dabwan Al-Mayahy, Ammar Ali Yassin Al-Ahdal, said today, Friday, that the doors of the judiciary are closed in his way to reach his client Al-Mayahy, and that he has reached a dead end with the Public Prosecution, which is under the control of the Houthis.

The Yemeni Journalists Syndicate said on Monday that journalist Mohammed Al-Mayahy is being subjected to retaliatory measures by the Houthi group, expressing its concern over the circumstances of his kidnapping since September 20.
