The Yemeni Teachers Syndicate in Taiz Governorate (southwest of Yemen) has given a full week to pay the salaries for last November, otherwise it will launch a comprehensive strike on education.

The Yemeni Teachers Syndicate in Taiz Governorate announced that it will organize a protest next Sunday in front of the Education Office in the governorate, as part of a series of escalating activities to demand the payment of delayed salaries to teachers and educators.

The Yemeni Teachers Syndicate in Shabwa Governorate condemned, on Wednesday, the attack on a peaceful protest organized by teachers to demand their legitimate rights guaranteed by the constitution and the law.

The Yemeni Journalists Syndicate called for improving the conditions of teachers and settling their salaries, including paying the suspended bonuses and allowances, and regularizing the payment of salaries in areas controlled by the government. It also called for international and UN pressure on the Houthi militia to force it to pay the salaries that have been suspended for eight years.

On Wednesday, the Yemeni Teachers Syndicate called for activating the union role at various levels to carry out its duty towards male and female teachers and the teaching profession.

Today, the Teachers Union in Taiz Governorate called on the Governor of Taiz, Nabil Shamsan, to quickly disburse teachers’ salaries for the month of June, and to disburse a cost-of-living allowance to suit the continuing rise in prices.
