Today, Sunday, the local authority in Marib Governorate appealed to donors to take urgent action to confront the effects of the severe cold on the displaced people in the camps, especially children and the elderly, in light of the shortage of shelter materials and the dilapidation of the camps.

The Hadhramaut Tribal Alliance announced, on Saturday, the start of opening camps to recruit the sons of the governorate, in a step it described as coming within the framework of responding to what it called the Presidential Leadership Council’s “procrastination and delay” regarding the governorate’s demands.

Today, Thursday, the Executive Unit for the Management of Displaced Persons Camps in Marib Governorate issued an urgent appeal, calling on its partners to intervene quickly to save the lives of thousands of displaced families who are at risk of death due to the waves of severe cold and frost hitting the region.

The Director of the Executive Unit for the Management of Displaced Persons Camps in Marib Governorate said that there are more than 60,000 displaced families in Marib Governorate inside the displacement camps in the governorate who need to replace their worn-out tents.
