Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper revealed the rapid spread of dangerous epidemics in several areas under the control of the Houthi militia, most notably schistosomiasis and river blindness, in light of the deterioration of the health sector and the absence of anti-epidemic campaigns, which led to the recording of deaths due to the lack of necessary medical care.

Dozens of health sector employees in the city of Ataq, the capital of Shabwa Governorate (southeast Yemen), held a protest today, Monday, demanding the arrest of the killers of their colleague, "Salem Abdullah Sael Al-Khalifi", and bringing him to trial.
