The Yemeni Interior Ministry's Patrol and Road Security Police in the city of Seiyun said on Saturday that they were able to arrest two people in possession of a large quantity of narcotics, during a routine inspection at a security checkpoint.
According to the Security Media Center, the security men found 4 kilograms and 800 grams of hashish, in addition to a kilogram of shabu, which were carefully hidden inside their vehicle.
The center explained, quoting the Patrol Police and Road Security Command, that the behavior of the two suspects raised suspicions among the security checkpoint personnel, which necessitated searching the vehicle they were driving. The search resulted in finding the narcotics hidden inside the car.
The two individuals, named (A. A. T.) and (Z. Y. A.), were arrested. The seized items were confiscated and the necessary legal measures were taken against them in the Anti-Narcotics Department. The two suspects will be referred to the Public Prosecution to complete the investigations.
