Saudi-American talks: A reading of the hidden dimensions and potential repercussions

Personally, I do not rule out that Saudi Arabia will play the role of mediator in favor of the Houthis, whether by trying to lift the sanctions or postpone them, especially since Saudi policy in Yemen since 2017 has witnessed a dramatic shift, as it moved from supporting the restoration of the state and defeating the Houthis, to adopting a plan to overthrow President Hadi and his deputy Mohsen, and then coexisting with the fait accompli imposed by Iran.

Saudi collusion or a well-thought-out strategy?

This is not speculation or a hasty conclusion, but facts based on tangible data. During the battles of Al-Jawf Governorate, I met the Yemeni Minister of Defense, whose features were filled with frustration due to the extent of the disappointment.

When I asked him about the coalition’s role in supporting the army, he merely gave me an urgent letter sent by the Ministry of Defense to the head of the coalition’s joint forces, demanding an increase in the size of the air force’s intervention and an acceleration in the provision of logistical support. But the Saudi response was a major shock.

The head of the joint forces of the coalition wrote with his own hand a sentence that needs no interpretation: “May God keep you, defend your country with all you can, as for the Kingdom, it will coexist with the south as it coexisted with the north of the Kingdom.”

When I read the response, I realized that the Kingdom has decided to coexist with Iran's influence in Yemen, as it did in Iraq. Today, all evidence confirms that liberating Yemen from Iranian occupation is no longer part of Saudi policy, and that the battle has become the battle of the Yemeni people, their army, and the resistance only.

But the Yemeni leadership continued to bury its head in the sand, betting on a change in the Kingdom’s position and waiting for it to return to adopting the option of a decisive military solution.

Yemen on the brink of the abyss... and the only way out

Today we are facing a dangerous turning point, as Yemen, with all its components, is on the brink of falling into the abyss. The Saudi insistence on continuing on the path of a political solution, and imposing the "roadmap" that Riyadh adheres to, is not just a random policy, but rather part of a long-term plan, of which the overthrow of President Hadi was only a station within it.

However, today the equation has changed, and the roadmap that Saudi Arabia is trying to revive is dead and will not be revived. Yemen is entering its 21st year of rebellion and coup war, and the fixed truth that everyone must realize is that the war will not stop until Iran is defeated and Yemen is completely liberated.

We are fully aware of what the regional environment wants from us, and we know its real goals, and we will deal with these facts in a way that strengthens the liberation battle. Today, it has become necessary for us to rearrange our national priorities, and adhere to our interests away from the calculations of others.

A message to the Saudi ambassador... and a reading behind the scenes of the negotiations

Saudi Ambassador Mohammed Al Jaber must realize that the "train of dropping Yemen to the bottom of hell and handing it over to Iran" has reached the mandatory stop.

As for the ongoing negotiations in Washington, which I view with pessimism, I call on everyone to delve into their details, because their backstage will reveal more facts about the great deception practiced by Saudi Arabia in Yemen.

The real battle today is no longer just against the Houthis, but against everyone who seeks to impose a reality that serves Iranian influence, whether intentionally or out of ignorance.

There will be no real peace unless this equation is broken and Sana'a is restored by a purely Yemeni decision, far from the interference of those who do not want Yemen to be liberated.
