Republic and Reform

The foundations of the republican reform and the resulting equal citizenship and equal opportunities led to an organizational structure that enabled all the people of the governorates to manage the party branches therein almost independently in most matters from the central and higher bodies of the party. This led to a feeling of equality, justice and freedom within the organizational structure of the reform, and many attempts that tried to throw or stigmatize the party with subordination to one region, class or social bloc over another failed.
This cohesive structure of the republic led the Islah party to launch a massive confrontation with its supporters and members against the Houthis and the Iranian occupation, and in this confrontation they presented tens of thousands of dead and wounded and hundreds of thousands of displaced people, or in other words, they were able - with others - to create a popular movement resisting the Houthis from all Yemeni regions and social and cultural components, and made the Houthis largely isolated from Yemeni society except from military power. What is said about the decisive influence of the republic in shaping, forming, structure and policies of Islah cannot be compared to the influence of democracy on it.
