The Arab Parliament welcomed, on Sunday, the decision of the International Criminal Court to issue two arrest warrants against the Prime Minister of the Israeli occupation entity, Benjamin Netanyahu, and the former Minister of Defense of the occupation, Yoav Galant, on charges of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip.

The parliament considered, in a statement published by the council’s media, the decision “an achievement of justice, a victory for international legitimacy, and a clear call to hold accountable all those involved in serious violations of international law and international humanitarian law, especially in light of the continued violations by the occupation entity against the defenseless Palestinian people, and to end the state of impunity that encourages it to commit more crimes and continue the war of genocide.”

The Arab Parliament affirmed its full support for the International Criminal Court and all international institutions seeking to achieve international justice, stressing the need for international action to hold accountable those responsible for crimes committed against the Palestinian people, and to ensure international protection for the Palestinians and their just and legitimate rights.

The Arab Parliament called on the international community, the states parties to the Rome Statute and non-state parties to respect the application of international law and support the International Criminal Court to achieve international justice as one of the guarantees for achieving deterrence and stopping the ongoing crimes against the Palestinian people.

On Thursday, the International Criminal Court issued two international arrest warrants against Netanyahu and Galant, on charges of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity during the ongoing genocide committed by Israel against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023.
