Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa confirmed his aspiration for Syria to regain its original role in the Arab League, days after the fall of Assad's regime and the control of the Syrian opposition.
This came in a letter he sent to the leader Ahmed Al-Sharaa, stressing Bahrain’s readiness, by virtue of its presidency of the Arab Summit, to continuously consult with the opposition and provide support in regional and international organizations to achieve what is in the best interest of the Syrian people.
He expressed his happiness with what he received about the meeting of the Presidency of the Political Affairs Department with the ambassadors residing in Damascus, stressing that it is a wise policy that Bahrain greatly appreciates, and reflects the keenness of the new leadership to preserve Syria's sovereignty, independence, safety and territorial integrity and to achieve the aspirations of the brotherly Syrian people.
