Saudi authorities arrest 14 Yemeni expatriates on charges of exploiting children in begging

Saudi authorities announced the arrest of 14 Yemeni expatriates for violating the Anti-Human Trafficking Law and exploiting children to beg in the streets of the capital, Riyadh.

The Saudi Ministry of Interior said in a statement on its account on the X platform, on Sunday, that the Riyadh police, in cooperation with the General Administration for Community Security and Combating Human Trafficking Crimes, were able to arrest 14 expatriates of Yemeni nationality for violating the Anti-Human Trafficking Crimes System.

She added that the detainees were arrested on charges of exploiting 27 Yemeni children to beg in public squares and streets.

She pointed out that they were arrested, legal measures were taken against them, and they were referred to the Public Prosecution Office, in coordination with the relevant authorities to provide the necessary humanitarian services to those who were exploited.
