Abyan: Mediation succeeds in opening the Al-Halhal road linking Lawdar and Mukayras.

Local mediation succeeded on Tuesday in reopening a road linking the governorates of Abyan and Al Bayda, after it had been closed repeatedly by the Houthi militia, designated a terrorist organization, since the beginning of the war.

Local sources told Yemen Youth Net that community efforts, led by tribesmen, have succeeded in opening the Aqabat al-Halhal road linking the districts of Lawdar (Abyan) and Mukayras (Al Bayda).

The sources explained that the road will benefit the people of the Jishan and Lawdar districts in Abyan, in addition to the people of Mukayras Al Bayda.

Houthi militia elements are positioned at the top of Al-Kur Mountain, which passes through the Halhal road, while government forces are positioned below the road.

It's worth noting that the militias have closed the Al-Halhal road for the third time since the start of the war, the last of which was in late 2021. Meanwhile, the main Aqabat Tharah road linking Abyan and Al Bayda governorates remains closed.
