The American police arrested three Yemenis on charges of involvement in buying and selling stolen goods inside a gas station in the state of Michigan.
The Yemenis of America website said that the Canton police arrested three Yemenis, after conducting an investigation into accusations that a gas station in Detroit, Michigan, was buying and selling stolen goods.
According to police, the investigation into the Valero gas station near Grand Boulevard and Linwood Avenue began in late 2024, when authorities suspected the station was being used as a front to dispose of stolen goods from several businesses across the metro Detroit area.
Investigations indicated that the station's management and employees were aware that large quantities of stolen energy drinks were being purchased and resold within the station.
The website explained that on January 22, 2025, police executed search warrants at the aforementioned gas station and a home in the city of Dearborn, resulting in the arrest of three people and the confiscation of stolen goods valued at thousands of dollars.
He pointed out that official charges were brought against Aziz Awad (40 years old) and Hamoud Fatah (22 years old) on Friday, January 24, on charges of establishing a criminal enterprise, involvement in an organized theft crime, and using a computer to commit a crime. Safwan Awad (38 years old) was also charged with involvement in an organized theft crime.
He noted that bail has been set at $10,000, and the next hearing is scheduled for Friday, January 31.
