Yemen's ambassador to Washington, Mohammed Al-Hadrami, called on the United States of America to increase pressure on the Houthi militia and target its leaders to force them to peace.
This came during his meeting with US Senator Ted Cruz and Senator Thom Tillis, in two separate meetings, in the capital, Washington, today, Wednesday, according to the Yemeni embassy’s account on the X platform.
The Yemeni embassy in Washington said that Ambassador Mohammed Al-Hadrami met today with Senator Ted Cruz and thanked him for his strong positions and for designating the Iranian-backed Houthi militias as a foreign terrorist organization.
Al-Hadhrami stressed the need to increase pressure on the militia and support the legitimate government to liberate Hodeidah, and target Houthi leaders to force them to peace.

He stressed the importance of supporting the legitimate government politically, economically and militarily and increasing pressure on Iran and its proxies, especially the terrorist Houthi group, to bring peace to Yemen.

Last Wednesday, the United States re-designated the Iran-backed Houthi militia as a foreign terrorist organization, by executive order from President Trump.
In mid-December, Ambassador Al-Hadrami had proposed, during his speech in the US Senate, to the US administration three measures to deal with the threats of the terrorist Houthi militias loyal to the Iranian regime.
The measures proposed by the ambassador included (designating the Houthis as a foreign terrorist organization, supporting the government to liberate Hodeidah, and targeting Houthi militia leaders).
