A young man in his twenties was killed yesterday, Friday, in a traffic accident in one of the towns of Ibb Governorate (central Yemen), bringing the total number of victims of traffic accidents in the governorate during last January to more than 30 dead and injured.

Local sources said that the young man, "Engineer Ryan Abdullah Saleh Al-Mubarzi", died after his motorcycle collided with a car at the Habish junction in Al-Makhader District, north of Ibb.

According to the sources, Al-Mubarazi is from Al-Sharaf area in Al-Makhader Directorate.

The editor of "Yemeni Youth Net" monitored the killing of 34 civilians in separate traffic accidents in Ibb Governorate during last January, including women and children.

The victims were distributed between (21 dead) and (13 wounded), 20 of them during the last three days of the month, in addition to about 10 others from the governorate who died in similar incidents in other Yemeni cities and in Saudi Arabia.

The governorate is witnessing a frightening increase in traffic accidents, especially those related to motorcycles, in light of the dilapidated roads and the absence of traffic signs, in addition to drivers’ failure to adhere to traffic rules.
