The Human Rights Office in Al-Duraihimi District in Al-Hodeidah Governorate (western Yemen) confirmed that the terrorist Houthi militia committed many serious violations against civilians in the district during last January.
The office said in an official statement that the Houthi militia committed several crimes during the month of January 2025, including pressuring the family of the victim (Fatima Ayesh Ahmed Darwish), who was kidnapped and liquidated as a result of her rejection of their sectarian project, to force her to give up her responsibility for the incident and accept pinning the blame on a citizen.
He added that the militia is threatening the families of those affiliated with the legitimacy with arrest and displacement, if they do not convince their relatives to return to areas controlled by the militia.
The statement explained that the Houthi militia forces citizens and government employees to attend sectarian courses and has carried out arrests against those who refuse to respond to them. It has also used schools, places of worship, and health centers as weapons stores, installed eavesdropping and spying devices, and imposed preachers in mosques to spread its sectarian poison and mobilize for its sectarian approach.
The statement accused the Houthi militia of establishing military sites, weapons depots and operations rooms in the middle of residential areas in the directorate, which threatens the lives of citizens.
The statement confirmed that the Houthi militias have intensified the planting of mine networks randomly in various areas, including the district center, the Kilo 16 area, citizens' farms, and on the beach. They have also spread sea mines 25 miles deep into the sea, and turned fishing anchors into sites for smuggling weapons and financial levies.
The office condemned these violations and called for deterring this terrorist gang and stopping its terrorist acts that threaten the lives of citizens.
