The army thwarts Houthi attacks on several fronts and announces the killing of a soldier in Marib

The Yemeni army announced, on Wednesday evening, that it had repelled offensive attempts launched by the Houthi militia in the governorates of Marib, Taiz and Al-Jawf, which resulted in deaths and injuries on both sides.

According to the September Net website of the Ministry of Defense, the army forces engaged in violent confrontations with the Houthis in northwest Marib and the southwestern fronts of the governorate, which led to the death of a soldier and the injury of others, while the militia suffered losses in lives and equipment.

The army forces also targeted heavy equipment belonging to the Houthis while they were creating fortifications and paving roads on the Marib fronts, and succeeded in damaging them.

In Taiz Governorate, army forces were able to thwart a Houthi infiltration attempt in the Al-Sayahi sector on the Al-Dhubab front, and force the attackers to retreat.

This Houthi escalation comes at a time when UN and international efforts are continuing to bring peace to Yemen, but these attacks reflect the militias’ rejection of the proposed solutions to end the war.
