On September 18, the US Treasury placed him on the US sanctions list as the commander of Unit 4000 of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, which is considered the special assistant to the Revolutionary Guards’ intelligence, according to the US Department. The US Treasury stated that his real name is Javad Ghaffar Ahadi, noting that since Operation Flood of Al-Aqsa, he has placed his unit’s capabilities at the disposal of the “Regional Resistance Front” to support Gaza. The Department also accused him of involvement in smuggling weapons to the Palestinian resistance in the West Bank.
