Genocide in northern Gaza.. More than 1,800 Palestinians killed and 100,000 children starved in one month
Gaza| 4 November, 2024 - 11:02 AM
The government media office in the Gaza Strip announced on Monday that the Israeli occupation army has killed 1,800 Palestinians since the start of the genocide in the northern governorate a month ago, and has deliberately starved 100,000 children, noting that all hospitals are out of service.
This came in a statement by the government office on the occasion of the one-month anniversary of the genocide in the northern Gaza Strip, amid an unprecedented tragic situation due to Israel's targeting of civilians and its tightening of the siege on Palestinians who refused to leave.
On October 5, the Israeli army began an unprecedented bombardment of areas in the northern Gaza Strip, before invading it under the pretext of "preventing Hamas from regaining its strength," while the Palestinians say that Israel wants to occupy the area and displace them.
The attack, which coincided with a tight siege, put hospitals in the northern governorate out of service, and also led to the suspension of civil defense services and ambulances of the Palestinian Red Crescent.
The office said: "This ongoing aggression has claimed the lives of more than 1,800 martyrs, 4,000 wounded, and hundreds missing, and destroyed all hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip governorate and put them out of service, and targeted civil defense crews, some of whom were arrested and put out of service as well."
He pointed out to "the malicious plans of the (Israeli) occupation to take revenge on our great Palestinian people and displace them from their land once again, similar to what happened historically in 1948 (the Nakba of Palestine), and these plans are covered by America and given a green light to commit more massacres, slaughters, killing and genocide."
The government office confirmed that "the occupation army used the weapon of starving and depriving civilians, and prevented 3,800 trucks of aid and goods from entering the northern Gaza Strip governorate, and deliberately starved nearly 400,000 people, including more than 100,000 children, and destroyed dozens of displacement and shelter centers that house tens of thousands of displaced people who fled their homes in search of security and safety."
The office, in the context of its talk about the types of Israeli genocide, said that Tel Aviv "deprived medical teams of food, arrested and tortured them, in addition to preventing the polio vaccination campaign."
He condemned "the Israeli occupation's commission of these crimes against humanity, massacres and genocide," holding "the Israeli occupation, the American administration, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and the countries participating in the genocide, fully responsible for the continuation of the war and the crime of genocide against our Palestinian people."
He also called on "the international community and all UN and international organizations to play their assigned role, adhere to the teachings of international law and international humanitarian law, and pressure the Israeli occupation to stop the horrific and brutal crimes it is committing against civilians."
With American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving more than 145,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and famine that killed dozens of children and the elderly, in one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world.
Tel Aviv continues its massacres, ignoring the UN Security Council resolution to end them immediately, and the International Court of Justice’s orders to take measures to prevent acts of genocide and improve the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.
