The Israeli occupation forces assassinated Al-Jazeera correspondent Ismail Al-Ghoul and photographer Rami Al-Rifi, today, Wednesday, by bombing that targeted them while they were in their car in Gaza City.
The Al Jazeera correspondent explained that the bombing was next to the destroyed home of the head of the political bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Ismail Haniyeh, in the Beach camp, while a number of journalists were present.
He said that an Israeli drone directly targeted the gathering of journalists in front of the destroyed house of the martyr Haniyeh, and added that the bodies of the martyred journalists were transported to the Baptist Hospital.
The reporter explained that Ismail al-Ghoul's wife and only daughter would not be able to bid him farewell, because they are in the central areas of the Strip, noting that they had not met him for about 8 months.
The government media office in Gaza reported that the martyrdom of journalists Ismail al-Ghoul and Rami al-Rifi raised the number of journalist martyrs to 165 since the beginning of the war on the seventh of last October.
The occupation forces had previously abused and arrested the martyr Ismail Al-Ghoul from Al-Shifa Hospital after the occupation forces stormed the largest medical complex in the Strip for the second time last March.
Since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, the occupation has been targeting Al Jazeera crews. Last January, journalist Hamza, son of colleague Wael Al-Dahdouh, was martyred in an Israeli bombing that targeted journalists west of Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip.
Al Jazeera photographer Samer Abu Daqqa was also martyred in an Israeli bombing last December in Khan Yunis.
