The UN Special Rapporteur on Palestine, Francesca Albanese, said that it is time to take the necessary measures and do everything possible to stop the ongoing Israeli "brutality" in the Gaza Strip.

This came in a speech during her participation in a conference at the University of Vienna, Austria, on Friday, under the title "The Israeli War: Colonial Ethnic Cleansing."

Albanese stressed that Israel is committing war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

She added: "What is happening in Gaza cannot be described as just a war, as there are rules for wars as well, but what is happening there is total destruction."

With American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving more than 150,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing, amid massive destruction and famine that killed dozens of children and the elderly, in one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world.

Tel Aviv continues its massacres, ignoring two arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court on November 21 against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant, on charges of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity against Palestinians in Gaza.

Israel also defies the UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate end to the war, and the International Court of Justice's orders to take measures to prevent genocide and improve the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.
