Watch.. Al-Qassam Brigades carry out a complex ambush for the occupation forces in Tal al-Hawa after waiting 8 months
Gaza| 9 August, 2024 - 7:16 PM
The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), broadcast today, Friday, footage of a complex ambush carried out by its fighters in the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood, southwest of Gaza City.
Al-Qassam Brigades explained that the ambush, which it called "Al-Baraa", was in the vicinity of Al-Baraa bin Azib Mosque, and its scenes date back to July 26.
The scenes showed a precise monitoring of the Israeli vehicles and the planting of explosive devices in the ambush area. Al-Qassam said that the planting operation took place last December, and the fighters had been waiting for the occupation vehicles to arrive in the area for more than 8 months.
According to the scenes, a command and control center was targeted with an anti-personnel TPG shell to lure the occupation forces and their vehicles into the ambush area.
After the Israeli forces arrived, they were dealt with using various weapons and explosive devices (Shwaaz and Shock), in addition to targeting a tank with a "Yassin 105" shell. Al-Qassam said that the targeting operations resulted in the force being killed and wounded.
After that, an Israeli infantry force advanced south of the mosque, where Qassam elements detonated a thunderbolt device among its members.

On July 26, Qassam announced that its fighters had destroyed two Israeli Merkava 4 tanks and a number of soldiers around them with two “Shwaaz” bombs in the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood, in addition to detonating an anti-personnel thunder bomb against an Israeli infantry force, killing and wounding them in the same neighborhood.
Accuracy of defensive plans
Military and strategic expert, Colonel Hatem Karim Al-Falahi, said that the scenes broadcast by the Al-Qassam Brigades of the ambush in the Tal Al-Hawa neighborhood, southwest of Gaza City, reveal the accuracy of its defensive plans, no matter how long it takes.
During his analysis of the military scene in Gaza on Al Jazeera, Al-Falahi said that the ambush was carried out on July 26, which is one of the turning points, and that there were other elements that were observed in the preparation and execution of this ambush.
Among these elements - according to Al-Falahi - are aerial photography by a drone to inspect the operations area and the location of the ambush, the defensive arrangements put in place by Al-Qassam, the video of which showed their great accuracy, as well as long-term monitoring that lasted 8 months.
The military expert believes that the details of this operation revealed through the clip give a clear indication that the resistance plans that were drawn up for defense included all areas of the Strip, some of which the occupation forces entered, while they have not succeeded in entering other areas so far.
Al-Falahi pointed out that the bombing operations came one after the other, which also reveals the keenness to ensure that the defensive arrangements are integrated and comprehensive, with the calculation of the next step for each stage of the plan, which took multiple stages in the bombing.
Impactful bombings
The military expert confirms that the explosions included in the complex ambush had a clear impact on the occupation soldiers and vehicles, which ended with a final explosion targeting a foot force that was in the vicinity of Al-Baraa bin Azib Mosque, which witnessed the implementation of the ambush.
Al-Falahi believes that the continued success of the resistance forces in carrying out ambushes in the northern regions is a clear indication of the effective ability to employ the geographical location and nature of the land, and the existence of an accurate reading of the ideas of the forces advancing in the region.
The military expert attributes the occupation army's insistence on re-invading areas that have been destroyed and whose residents have been displaced to its search for resistance infrastructure and strategic targets that it has not yet succeeded in reaching.
Since the start of the occupation army's large-scale ground operation in the Gaza Strip in late October, Qassam has been broadcasting footage of its fighters targeting occupation vehicles on various axes of the incursion, which varied between hitting tanks with anti-tank shells, detonating others with explosive devices, and setting up successful ambushes.
The operations also included targeting Israeli infantry forces with anti-fortification shells, in addition to sniping operations, direct engagement, and raiding the headquarters of the occupation operations in various areas.
