Security statistics reveal that 414 people were killed and injured in traffic accidents in areas under the control of the Yemeni government during March.
The Ministry of Interior's Security Media Department reported that 379 traffic accidents occurred on the roads of liberated areas in March, resulting in 75 deaths and 339 injuries, 197 of whom were seriously injured. Material losses amounted to 1.652 billion riyals.
The statistics indicated that these traffic accidents were distributed among 192 vehicle collisions, 114 pedestrian run-overs, 50 vehicle rollovers, 12 collisions with fixed objects, and 11 falls from vehicles.
The statistics attributed these traffic accidents to (violating traffic rules and regulations, including speeding, overloading, wrong and dangerous overtaking, being distracted from the road, driving while tired and exhausted, ignoring traffic police signals and instructions, neglecting vehicle maintenance, reckless driving of motorcycles, neglecting pedestrians when crossing roads, and the technical suitability of the road).
