Al Mahwit: 25 people killed or missing, and a number of homes destroyed as a result of a dam explosion in "Malhan"

Local sources in Al Mahwit Governorate reported the death and disappearance of 25 people on Tuesday evening, as a result of a water tank explosion in Malhan District, as a result of the continuous rainfall in the governorate for several weeks.

Local sources told "Yemeni Youth Net" that the initial statistics of the tank explosion disaster led to the death and loss of more than 25 people, the sweeping away of 12 homes, eight cars, and four shops, and the complete disruption of the lines leading to the directorate.

The sources explained that the dam that exploded is located in Al-Qibla district, in Malhan directorate, and its explosion caused a real disaster. The damage has not been estimated, as the rain continues to fall until this news was written.

According to sources, the dam is located on a high hill above citizens' homes, which led to this disaster.

The residents appealed to local and international organizations and the relevant authorities to intervene urgently to do what is necessary to rescue the affected residents, extract the victims from under the rubble, search for the missing, and provide temporary shelter for those affected.
