Death of a Yemeni citizen while trying to enter Saudi Arabia through smuggling

Yemeni citizen "Nwar Al-Tayri" died on Tuesday while trying to enter Saudi Arabia illegally, after his harsh living conditions prevented him from continuing his life inside Yemen.

Al-Tayri, who supported his family from a modest job in a handcart, suffered from accumulating debts and financial difficulties, which prompted him to try to travel in search of a source of income to meet his family’s needs, according to activists.

Despite his attempt to enter Saudi Arabia officially through the Al-Wadiah port, previous restrictions prevented him from doing so, as he had been taken out of Saudi Arabia using fingerprints, so he decided to resort to smuggling.

According to activists, the journey in search of subsistence ended in tragedy, as Al-Tayri lost his life while trying to cross the Saudi border, becoming a symbol of the suffering of thousands of Yemenis who are driven by poverty to take dangerous routes.
