Aden: Yemen Youth Net
Biscuit distributes aid to some school students in Yemen
The Executive Unit for School Nutrition in the interim capital, Aden, denied that biscuits distributed by the World Food Program to school students contained chemical materials.
In a statement issued by it and obtained by "Yemeni Youth Net", the unit denied the rumors that were circulated on social media about the biscuit (made in Indonesia) supported by the World Food Program.
The unit confirmed that the Quality and Standards Authority inspects all shipments of biscuits supported by the World Food Programme, including Indonesian-made biscuits, confirming that it has product approval certificates from the authority.
The unit reiterated the inaccuracy of the information circulating about the harms of biscuits, and confirmed that it is false information and has no basis in truth.
The unit addressed the Education Department in the Directorate in the liberated governorates to notify the targeted schools to feed students with nutritious biscuits fortified with vitamins to meet the hunger needs of school children.
She warned against allowing malicious and hostile rumours against proper school nutrition.
Rumors were circulated by a number of social media activists that these biscuits contain chemicals that increase sexual arousal in children.
