Tankers detained in Hadhramaut on charges of smuggling gold and black sand
Hadhramaut Tribal Alliance announced the detention of 4 locomotives leaving "Ghaydat Al-Bahish Al-Ghabr" on their way to the capital, Aden, on charges of smuggling gold and black sand, amid claims that it was gypsum.
The Hadhramaut Tribal Alliance indicated that it was found that the cargo was made up of stones containing raw gold, precious and rare stones, while the Hadhramaut Geological Survey Authority denied these accusations and said that it was loaded with "gypsum."
In this context, a source in the Hadhramaut Tribal Alliance confirmed to "Yemeni Youth Net" that the alliance's points detained, on Wednesday, a number of large trucks that were leaving the "Ghaydat Al-Bahish Al-Ghabr" area west of Al-Mukalla, carrying various types of stones.
The source pointed out that the trucks are carrying rare stones, noting that the licenses held by the truck drivers are not accurate, and that they say that they are carrying gypsum materials for the National Cement Company in Aden.
He explained that the alliance formed a committee yesterday, Thursday, with a representative from the Geological Survey Authority, to inspect these stones, stressing that the type of these stones will be revealed, whether they contain gold or precious stones, after inspecting them.
The Hadhramaut Tribal Alliance began escalating in early August, due to the government and the Presidential Council not responding to its demands, and deployed armed points in the Hadhramaut Plateau and took control of the oil sectors, after threatening to "seize the land and wealth", in addition to stationing its militants east and west of the governorate, to prevent the smuggling and looting of Hadhramaut's wealth, according to what he said.
