Houthi militias torture small traders and merchants north of Ibb

The terrorist Houthi militia carried out a new campaign of violations targeting street vendors and small traders in a market in Ibb Governorate (central Yemen).

Local sources said that the Houthi militia recently carried out a new campaign of violations against vendors and traders in the Habish junction market in Al-Makhader district, north of Ibb.

The sources added that the violations included (imposing new fees, bulldozing a number of stalls, assaulting their owners, and kidnapping a number of merchants and vendors).

Activists on social media circulated videos of Houthi gunmen attacking and shooting vendors in the market, amid reports of injuries among them.

Ibb Governorate has been witnessing a major commercial recession for months, exacerbated by the taxes imposed by the Houthi militia on merchants and vendors, which have pushed many of them into bankruptcy.

Houthis attack vendors and shop owners and arrest some of them in the Habish junction market in Al-Makhader district in Ibb governorate.
The Houthis' looting taxes have caused the closure of many shops of major merchants, as well as the shops of many vendors, and the closure of a large number of restaurants and bakeries in the governorate.
