The General Electricity Corporation in the interim capital, Aden, warned of a complete power outage over the next two days, as fuel is running out.

A statement issued by the corporation, published on Thursday, said that the existing quantity of diesel fuel needed to operate the Mansoura station, which is the main load center in the city of Aden, is sufficient for only 72 hours.

He added that if fuel is not provided, the electricity will be completely cut off from the city and the surrounding areas.

The Foundation called on the Presidential Leadership Council and the Prime Minister to quickly intervene to secure electricity fuel urgently, and said: “Delaying the provision of emergency quantities of fuel will lead to a humanitarian and service disaster, a complete halt to vital services, and the disruption of daily life.”

The statement stressed that the increase in the hours of outages during the recent period, and the expected total blackout, "is something completely beyond the control of the institution, as a result of the absence of the relevant authorities from providing fuel, despite the repeated official communications directed by the institution without any noteworthy response."
