Local residents said that the hours of power outages in the interim capital, Aden (southern Yemen), have increased again after a number of power stations stopped working.

Citizens confirmed to "Yemeni Youth Net" that the hours of outage increased to eight and a half hours compared to two hours of operation, amid fears of an increase in the hours of outage after a number of generating stations stopped working.

Informed sources said that all diesel-powered power plants have stopped working due to fuel shortages, and it is expected that the PetroMasila station will stop working today, Friday, due to the shortage of crude oil.

The sources indicated that if the PetroMasila station stops, only the Al-Haswa and Al-Mansoura stations, in addition to the solar station during the day, will remain in service, which will increase the hours of outage.

The General Electricity Corporation has not issued any clarification statement yet.

The Yemeni government is facing a stifling financial crisis that has caused a two-month delay in paying employees' salaries and an inability to provide fuel for power plants.
