Human rights sources in the capital, Sana'a, revealed that the Houthi militia kidnapped 15 citizens from Tihama, due to their participation in a protest demonstration against the militia's failure to deal with the flood disaster that struck the directorate last month.
The Capital Rights Center said that the people of Tihama organized a demonstration on Saturday evening, in which they expressed their anger at the militia’s failure to provide aid to those affected by the floods, and the deterioration of services in Al Hudaydah Governorate.
She added that the Houthi militia responded to these protests with a kidnapping campaign that targeted 15 of the participants, whose fate remains unknown to this day.
This incident comes amid widespread accusations against the Houthi militia of obstructing relief efforts and stealing aid provided to those affected by natural disasters, which has exacerbated the suffering of the population in areas under its control.
