A land-looting gang seized the land of an expatriate in Ibb Governorate (central Yemen), under the protection of the Houthi militia security forces in the governorate.
Informed sources said that a gang robbed the land of expatriate Mansour Mohammed Al-Saber in the Al-Jabajib area, south of Ibb city, under the protection of Houthi elements affiliated with the militia's security officer in the governorate, Sadiq Ghurab.
The sources added that the gang had built an entire building under militia protection just before Eid al-Fitr.
The sources said the gang is accused of seizing land and forging ownership documents, and has warrants from judicial authorities for their arrest.
Sources indicated that the land belongs to the expatriate "Saber" and his family before him, and that he has documents proving this dating back decades. However, a gang of Hashemites backed by Houthi leaders is seeking to seize it by forging ownership documents.
Since the Houthi militia seized control of Ibb Governorate by force following the 2014 coup, it has witnessed systematic looting of private and public land and property by specialized gangs, most of whom are militia leaders and members, including those coming from outside the governorate.
