A Yemeni government minister criticized the recent visit of UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, to Tehran, which he said raised "major question marks." He warned against attempts to rescue the terrorist Houthi militia, which has been subjected to continuous US attacks since mid-March.
Information Minister Muammar al-Eryani said, "The UN envoy's visit to Tehran at this critical juncture raises major questions."
He wondered, "Is it undeniable to him that the terrorist Houthi militia, which he describes as a 'party to the conflict,' is targeting international shipping and trade routes and the security and stability of the region? Is he unaware that Iran, which he is visiting, is the main sponsor of terrorism?"
The Yemeni minister stressed that "the international community needs firm positions at this moment, not steps to save the Houthis," as he put it.

Is it hidden from him that the terrorist Houthi militia, which he describes as a "party to the conflict," is targeting international shipping and trade routes and the security and stability of the region?
Does he not know that Iran, which he is visiting, is the main sponsor of terrorism?

On Sunday, at the conclusion of a visit to Tehran, Grundberg warned that regional developments could undermine efforts to achieve peace in Yemen. He called for de-escalation and avoiding further deterioration at the regional level.
According to a statement from his office, during his visit to Tehran, Grundberg met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-e Ravanchi, Director General Mohammad Ali Bek, and several members of the diplomatic corps residing in Tehran to discuss recent developments in Yemen and the region.
Yemen has witnessed a new military escalation since mid-March, when US President Donald Trump announced the launch of an intensive military campaign against the Houthi militias, with the aim of weakening their military capabilities.
The US administration accuses the Houthi militia of threatening its maritime interests and military forces in the region. It also accuses Iran of militarily supporting their Houthi allies, and Trump has threatened it with "unprecedented bombardment" if it does not reach an agreement with them regarding its nuclear program.
