Travelers reported on Sunday that the main road linking Sanaa to Taiz governorate was cut off due to rock collapses, while two people drowned and a third was injured in Ibb governorate in central Yemen.
Travelers told Yemen Youth Net that major rock collapses in the Samarra Mountains in Ibb Governorate led to the complete severing of the main road between Sana'a and Taiz.
They explained that the rocks that fell due to the rain accumulated over a long distance on the road and stopped traffic, noting that the road has been closed since this afternoon without the Houthi militia intervening to open it.
They pointed out that there were many vehicles and trucks parked on the side of the mountain road linking Sana'a to Taiz.
In a related context, two people died and a third was injured after they were swept away by the floods that hit Ibb Governorate today.
Sources told "Yemeni Youth Net" that citizens found two people dead, and a third in very critical condition, after their motorcycle got stuck in one of the flood culverts in the village of Al-Aridah in the Habish district.
Other sources reported that floods swept away a child on the ring road near the Taj Hotel in the center of Ibb city, and a search is underway for him.
For weeks, Yemen has been witnessing heavy rains and torrential floods that have caused significant human and material losses in several Yemeni governorates.
