The International Organization for Migration announced the displacement of 35 families from several Yemeni governorates during the past week, driven by security fears and threats and economic factors.
The organization said in its weekly report that its tracking matrix monitored the displacement of 35 Yemeni families (210 individuals) during the period from November 10 to 16.
She explained that the majority of displacement cases originated from Hodeidah, Hajjah and Taiz, and settled in Marib (27 families), Hodeidah (7 families) and Taiz (one family).
The organization stated that security concerns and threats were the main reason behind 19 families leaving their original areas, representing 54% of the total displacement cases recorded last week, while economic factors related to the conflict forced 16 families to flee, representing 46%.
She pointed out that the total number of displaced persons throughout the country rose during the period from January 1 to November 16, 2024, to 3,177 families representing (19,062 individuals).
