A military spokesman in the Taiz military axis revealed that the terrorist Houthi militia has escalated its hostile actions in an unprecedented manner on a number of fronts in the governorate.
Colonel Abdul-Basit Al-Bahr, Deputy Head of the Moral Guidance Division in the Taiz Axis, said on Saturday, "The Houthi militia has fired heavy, intermittent fire during the past 24 hours with machine guns, machine guns, and 23mm cannons on the city's fronts and its countryside in Al-Aqroud, Al-Kadha, Al-Dhubab, and Maqbanah."
He added in a statement on his Facebook page, "Heavy mortar shells were also fired at the sites of Al-Dhubab and Al-Sayahi, without causing any injuries, on the western front. RPG shells were fired at civilian neighborhoods near the ceremonial camp and the vicinity of the Republican Palace on the eastern front of the city."
Colonel Al-Bahr stated that the militia "targeted the army positions in Aqabat Munif to the east with snipers, and sniped from the Al-Mudaraj Hill to the west at the army positions in Al-Dumaina, and the treacherous and cowardly enemy targeted the Al-Khazan and Ghurab positions on the western front of the city with 23mm machine guns."
He pointed out that "the enemy carried out engineering works, military innovations, built barricades and established fortifications on a number of fronts, including the Al-Kadha front, Al-Shiki hill and Al-Zuhaib mountain." The enemy is also flying drones over a number of sites and fronts and over a number of populated villages and residential neighborhoods.
Regarding the crowd of deceived people, the military spokesman explained that the Houthi militia sent reinforcements of 13 vehicles carrying personnel, ammunition and bullets, and sent armored vehicles to its positions in the Sofitel Hill and the Qasr Roundabout, northeast of Taiz, and Al-Hawjalah, Al-Mahdhar and Wadi Jadid, north of the city.
Colonel Al-Bahr stressed that the army forces, as part of their national duty, responded to the sources of enemy fire, and targeted all movements, innovations and actions of the enemy with medium and heavy weapons, inflicting material and human losses on the enemy.
In this context, he referred to the qualitative raid operation carried out by the army forces on the militia sites that was carried out on Friday/Saturday night, in the vicinity of the ceremonial camp, where they were able to destroy and detonate a tunnel and a hangar; behind which the enemy was taking cover and targeting the city through them, and another targeting operation of the enemy's reconnaissance elements who tried to infiltrate the front sites west of the city.
At the end of his statement, Colonel Al-Bahr reiterated that "the heroes of the National Army and the Popular Resistance are at the peak of morale, at the highest levels of technical and combat readiness, and at the highest levels of high combat preparedness, and are constantly vigilant of all hostile movements, and are always ready under any circumstances to move and implement the planned tasks to successfully complete the liberation of the province."
