One killed and one injured by unknown gunmen in Al-Udain, west of Ibb

One person was killed and another was injured on Wednesday by unknown gunmen in Al-Udain District, west of Ibb city (central Yemen), amidst the widespread security chaos witnessed in the governorate under the control of the Houthi militia.

Local sources said that a motorcyclist named Abdullah Ahmed Murshid Ashour was killed and another person next to him named Muqbil Saeed was injured by gunfire from gunmen in the village of Tha’ub in the Khabbaz district in the Al-Udayn district, west of Ibb.

The motives for the crime and those responsible for it were not immediately known, but the region witnesses tribal fighting from time to time between the Bani Al-Shahari and the Al-Damini and Al-Wasili families, following a conflict fueled by the Houthi militia for more than two years.

Security leaders in the Houthi militia are accused of fueling the conflict in the region and disrupting all local and tribal efforts to resolve the dispute, which has resulted in more than ten deaths and dozens of injuries on both sides of the conflict so far, in addition to damage to a large number of homes and properties.
