The Houthi militia released a number of those accused of killing Sheikh Sadiq Bashar after days of investigation, and refused to refer the case file to the prosecution, as part of its efforts to bury the case that sparked great resentment among the tribes of Ibb Governorate, to which the victim belongs.
Informed sources said that the Houthi militia's Interior Ministry released two of the killers of Sheikh "Sadiq Bashar", days after handing them over for investigation, while three others are still at large without being subjected to investigation.
The sources added that the militia refuses to detain the gang leader, "Alawi Al-Amir", and his brother, who are related by marriage to the Minister of Interior in the militia authorities, "Abdul Karim Al-Houthi".
The sources indicated that the militia refused to refer the case file to the Public Prosecution in an attempt to dilute the case and bury it, as it has deliberately ignored the demands of the guardians of the Dom and the tribes of Ibb since the beginning of the case, to open an urgent investigation into the case and arrest all the perpetrators and hold them accountable.
Until now, no position has been issued by the blood relatives and the Ibb tribes, who have continued to gather in Sana'a since the second day of the crime, regarding these developments.
The militia had forced the tribes of Ibb Governorate, who were demanding the arrest of the killers of Sheikh Sadiq Bashar, to lift their sit-in in Dar Salam in Sana'a after besieging it with dozens of vehicles and threatening to disperse it by force, hours after their sit-in in Al-Sab'een Square was dispersed by force, which prompted them to gather in a closed hall.
On Monday, November 25, Houthi elements led by the so-called "Alawi Saleh Qaid Al-Amir", appointed by the Houthi militia as director of the Alaya Police Department in the Shamila area, ambushed the tribal sheikh "Sadiq Bashar", who hails from the Ash-Sha'ar District in Ibb Governorate, in the Dar Salam roundabout south of Sana'a, and opened fire on his car, killing him after looting money and personal belongings that were in his possession.
