She stressed the necessity of implementing this strike "for the sake of the difficult living conditions that have affected everyone's lives after salaries were stopped for two consecutive months, which all citizens live on."
The union said in its statement, "The flood has reached the limit, patience has run out, and it has reached an unbearable level," and called on "the governor of Aden to pay the sum of thirty thousand riyals to all its cadres, as they are no less important than their fellow teachers and educators."
She stressed that she would not back down from this strike until her legitimate and legal demands were met.
For its part, the General Union of Technical Education and Vocational Training announced its continuation of the comprehensive strike until its legitimate demands are met, stressing that it will not back down on its members’ right to a decent life and decent working conditions that guarantee dignity for the technical teacher.
She reiterated her commitment to this peaceful struggle until all her demands are met, calling in this regard on "the concerned parties to assume their responsibilities and work to resolve this crisis as soon as possible."
The government demanded that the salaries of two months of October and November be paid in one lump sum, and that the salary be paid on the specified date of the 30th of each month regularly, and that wages be restructured in a manner consistent with the high cost of living, the collapse of the currency, and the increase in prices.
It also called for the launch of settlements, the hiring of contractors, and the launch of the nature of work for 2011 employees.
